Problems and solutions

Problems:

1. Deforestation

All over the world trees are getting cut down by humans. Trees contribute to lower CO2 levels and are the homes of many animals.

2. Extinction

On land, wild animals are being hunted to extinction by humans for meat, fur, and bones. We will eventually run out of animals, and we will have to consume other food.

3. Overpopulation

The human population continues to grow rapidly worldwide, and we are now about 7.5 billion people on earth to this day. Most of the growth is happening on the African continent.

4. Air pollution

In 2016 there were about 4.2 million deaths because of low air quality. Most of them were from low-and middle-income countries.

5. Global warming

The world has realized that their actions have consequences. Ever since the modern world began, humans have slowly destroyed the earth with record-breaking temperatures.

6. Weather events

Extreme weather events and changes in water cycle patterns are making it more difficult to access safe drinking water, especially for the most vulnerable children.

7. Sea levels Rising

Sea levels are causing freshwater to become salty, compromising the water resources millions of people rely on.

8. Natural disasters

Around 74 percent of natural disasters between 2001 and 2018 were water-related. The frequency and intensity of such events are only expected to increase with climate change.

9. Water temperatures

Rising temperatures can lead to deadly pathogens in freshwater sources, making the water dangerous for people to drink.

10. Contaminated water

Contaminated water poses a huge threat to children’s lives. Water and sanitation-related diseases are one of the leading causes of death in children under 5 years old.

Solutions:

1. Research if the product you are buying contains for example palm oil.

2. Don’t buy clothes with fur from potential red-listed species.

3. Studies have shown that when women are empowered to control their own reproduction, the births per woman drop.

4.Replace fossil fuels with renewable sources.

5.The three best things you can do to help overcome global warming are to eat less meat, reduce food waste and recycle as much as you can.

6.Help lower-income countries with water cleaning through charity.
